In the early morning of Saturday, January 27, 2018, a faulty Web Protection update was published to some Malwarebytes customers.
** If your computer was turned off from Friday, January 26 to Saturday, January 27 at 11am PST, your computer was not affected by the faulty update.
This article is intended for Malwarebytes home users and users of Malwarebytes Premium 3, whose computers were affected by this update.
The following steps will help you recover from the update:
- Restart your PC - it may take two restarts ti stabilize your system
- If restarting does not solve the problem, please download and install Malwarebytes Cleanup Utility
- Customers can also download and re-install the newest free version of the software from the Malwarebytes website. Upon re-installation, your software should automatically activate as your Premium version.
